From The Community
"The Maui Friends of the Children's Justice Center is an invaluable partner to the Department of Human Services. Through many years of collaboration and networking together, the Maui community has benefited greatly from this partnership. The Maui Friend's of the Children's Justice Center has been instrumental in providing continual financial support to abused and neglect Keiki in Maui County where the DHS could not. Hats off to the dedication and commitment of the Friends in making Maui County a better place for us all!!"

"As I sit here to write my testimony about the working relationship I have with your agency, a smile is quickly planted on my face and love and compassion fills my heart!

I have been blessed with the opportunity and privilege to know you, your agency and the services you provide because of my position with Women Helping Women, a non-profit agency whose mission is “to end domestic violence through advocacy, education and prevention; and to offer safety, support and empowerment to women and children, victims of domestic violence.”

As a former part-time Transitions Project case manager and now as the full-time Temporary Restraining Order advocate, FCJC has played an integral part of the survival plan for many of our victims, both the mother and her children as they do their part to break the cycle of abuse in their lives by a batterer. Your agency has also stretched your generosity towards our emergency shelter and the children’s program that also exist within our agency and I suggest that you contact them for more details.

As for the departments that I have worked in, the financial support of FCJC has made many dreams come true for our island keiki, giving them something positive to look forward to and meeting their financial needs; whether it be for educational, safety and basic living necessities.

The keiki we meet in this line of work, in our schools and in our lives are truly the heart of our community and their own determination to live is their bloodline. We are simply the vessels that help them function and continue to live a life of purpose and meaning. It has been an honor to be a partner with you and your agency as your generous financial contributions continue to pump life to our precious children."

MEO's BEST Reintegration Program works with individuals that are incarcerated to successfully return home and become healthy, loving and responsible members of their `ohana and our larger community.

During this holiday season, the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui County touched the hearts of our clients as well as their keiki. FCJC Maui donated age appropriate gifts for our clients' children. Our clients, who are incarcerated, or formerly incarcerated were so grateful and amazed with the love and the spirit of aloha when we distributed the gifts to their children.

Through the support of the FCJC Maui, we were able to fulfill many children's dreams. More important, these gifts served as a reminder that our clients' children are truly special and loved by their parents and our entire community.
