Ways to Stop 1 Big Problem
The next time everyday pressures build up to the point where you feel
like lashing out-
STOP!
Here’s what to do instead:
1. Take a deep breath. And another. Then remember that you are the adult…
2. Close your eyes and imagine you’re hearing what your child is
about to hear.
3. Count to 10. Better yet, 20. Or say the alphabet out loud.
4. Phone a friend.
5. If someone can watch the children, go outside and take a walk.
6. Take a hot bath, or a cold shower.
7. Still mad? Hug a pillow. Or munch on an apple.
Take time out.
Don’t take it out on your child.
